I'm really excited to introduce Naples to The Good Pour, the newest liquor store located in The Shoppes at Vanderbilt. Just east of the CVS on the corner of Airport-Pulling and Vanderbilt Beach Road is a huge storefront that has been completely transformed. Although I called it a "liquor store," I really can't stress enough that it is so much more than that. In fact, the owners describe it as:

What can we expect at The Good Pour?
I was really shocked when I walked in the first time at how beautiful this store is. It is organized beautifully and features everything from wines to high-end spirits that aren't found elsewhere in this town. Although the store is primarily about wine and spirit sales by the bottle, they do offer so much more.
Time to sample some wine and spirits.
One of my favorite features are the sampling stations that allow you to try various wines and spirits by the glass. You get a card from the clerk and that allows you to choose just how much you would like. Want an entire glass? No problem! Want just a small taste? You can get that too. My wife and I attended an event at the store and took our dear friends with us. My friend is a whiskey drinker and looked at me surprised and said, "That's a $300 bottle!" Sure enough, it was and it gave him the opportunity to try a bottle he may not ordinarily have had the chance to try.

One of the owners of The Good Pour is Ivo Atanasov, a local expert in all things wine. For years, we have called Ivo whenever we needed a recommendation for a bottle and he has never steered us wrong. Ask, "What's a great sauvignon blanc for under $50?" He'll take you right to it. "We're going to a friend's birthday part and want a bottle of bourbon around $100. What do you recommend?" He'll answer right away!
That's the kind of service you can expect at the shop. The staff are extremely courteous and knowledgable about the products they're selling. They're not there to upsell you on a pricier bottle but rather build a relationship where you can stop by with a question and they'll help you find exactly what you're looking for within your budget.

A very clever aspect of the store is the ability to put together a gift on the spot. You can choose what you'd like in the basket or ask the staff to help you decide what's best for your budget. Use their expertise to select the contents and then they'll work their magic to make the gift basket beautiful. I just love how customers can stick to their budget and know that the contents of the basket are the absolute best for what you're willing to spend. Plus, who wouldn't want to receive something like this?
