One of the things my wife and I have really enjoyed over the years, through many moves, are the small things we can add to our homes to make them so much better by making them more convenient or safer. Let's talk about some of them.
Defend against leaks and know right away if one occurs.
One of the easiest and most important items on our list are wireless leak detectors. Place these in areas most likely to have a flood. I have them in the water heater pan, behind the refrigerator, behind the washing machine, under each toilet and under each sink in the house. They're so cheap so why not?
Wirelessly allow guests into your home while keeping the bad guys out.

If you just closed on a home, you're surely going to change the locks. I highly recommend this particular front door lock set. What I love is that you can connect your Apple devices to this deadbolt and unlock from anywhere! We purchased this one because we sometimes need a neighbor to walk our dog and we're also able to give the housekeepers access when needed.
Get some outdoor time while enjoying your favorite shows.
One of my favorite updates to our home was mounting a TV outside. We're fortunate to have a pool with a spa and this mounted on the lanai really upgraded my life. I love grabbing a beer and hopping in the pool to watch the Miami Dolphins lose (Yes, I'm a lifelong Dolphins fan). Cool nights are a great chance to relax in the hot tub and catch up on the TV shows my wife and I binge.
Honorable Mention: Get one for inside too but you have to hide the cables!
One of the things that I hate seeing in a beautiful home's family room is a wall-mounted TV with cables hanging down. It's time to upgrade that room by making a little tunnel behind the drywall. The best thing you could purchase in my opinion are these cable ports. You install them in your wall and then push the cable through. It's an easy task and makes your home look so much better.

You've landscaped so put a little light on it.
When you've upgraded your landscaping, plants, flowers and garden gnomes, it's time to light it up. You've put a lot of time and effort (and money) into making your yards beautiful and it goes to an entirely higher level when you add some solar lighting. These lights can be very inexpensive and easy to install and maintain.
