We're back at 15464 Cortona Way to show off a gorgeous wall featuring picture frame molding. I would actually argue that the beautiful color the owners chose wouldn't look good in the room without the DIY molding but when you add that touch, the paint color works perfectly.

Shiplap Done in Moderation is Awesome

As a REALTOR®, I've been in a lot of homes in Naples and I've seen some things. One of the things I've seen completely overdone is shiplap. However, when you do just the right amount of shiplap, you end up with the best laundry room on the block. 15464 Cortona Way is a great example. First of all, I love the effort! Most homeowners would look at a laundry room and deem it utilitarian but these owners added a huge upgrade when they installed this shiplap wall.

I also want to showcase what can be done with shiplap when you use it for more than just an accent. Here in 2187 Cara Cara Way, the owner literally built an entire fixture with a TV mount and built-in electric fireplace. I love it. I think a lot of people would have made the entire wall shiplap and it's just too much. But, the right amount with accent colors on either side really make it pop.

Back at 15464 Cortona Way (I told you they upgraded this house considerably!) is an example of board and batten that is executed perfectly. The owner added the color and the room just pops when you walk in.
